Many operators are getting ready for the next generation of high-speed data known as 5G. In preparation, some operators have begun to discontinue support for their 3G networks, so it's really important that you make sure your phone supports the 4G/LTE bands used in the U.S.

How to determine the model of your iPhone

In order to identify the model of your iPhone, just go to Settings > General > About and look for the Model option. Click on Model and the model number that begins with A will be revealed.

With which operator will your iPhone work?

Travel Mobile currently sells a variety of SIMs that function in the U.S.:

  • LYCA Mobile uses the T-Mobile network in the United States. Your phone must support LTE Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz) in order to use the 4G/LTE network.

  • Red Pocket uses the AT&T network in the United States. AT&T uses a variety of different frequencies for 4G/LTE in the United States, and this varies by city.

  • AT&T 4G HSPA and HSPA+ use Band 5 (850 MHz) and Band 2 (1900 MHz) depending on the area. LTE uses Band 17 (700 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 2 (1900 MHz), and Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz).
